The British Internet news site "Anova" reported on the 27th (Korea Standard Time) that a chicken raised by a woman in Suffolk, England, is attracting people's attention by laying a large egg.

The egg weighs 7 ounces (about 200 grams) and has a widest diameter of 8 inches (about 20 centimeters) and is about 2.5 times bigger than a regular egg.

　Freda Smith, the owner of the chicken house, said, "I was surprised to find it with other eggs early in the morning," adding, "I think one out of 10 chickens I raise gave birth."

She also added, "My neighbors say the eggs are similar to the goose's, and that someone was joking, but I don't think so."

　"The Guinness Book of Records currently lists 12 ounces (about 340 grams) as the largest egg in the world," Smith said. "But I've never actually seen anything like it yet."
