그동안 제 머리카락의 숫자가 모자란 것을 신경쓰지 않았습니다.

그런데 이제 신경쓰이기 시작하네요.

사실 남들이 보기에는 꽤 많이 벗어졌습니다. 단지 제가 무시하고 있던 것 뿐이죠.

얼마 전 애인과 애인의 어머니를 만나뵙게 되었습니다.

이른바 어머니께 소개하는 날이었던 것이죠.

저는 어머니 정면에서 계산대를 등지고 앉아서 식사를 했습니다.

식사 중에 제 애인이 저 모르게 계산하러 가서 우리 테이블을 가르켰더니 주인이 이렇게 말하더랍니다.

"아~ 저기 할아버지랑 할머니 테이블이여?" 라고요.

심각한 정도겠지요. 사람들은 이 이야기를 들으면 재미나게 웃지만 그리고 저도 웃어 넘기지만 사실 웃을 일이 아닙니다.

그래서 고민하고 있습니다.

가발을 만들어 쓸까 아니면 머리를 심을까에 대해서요. 곧 결혼도 할 예정이거든요.
