I'm in my early 50s and in my 20th year of taking hair loss medicine. I took Pina and Dutta series alternately. I've been taking it every few days since I entered the 50th row. Fortunately, I was able to defend against a sudden M-shape after taking the drug, but I am a little anxious about various side effects such as brainfog.
Today, I'm going to talk about the correlation between hair loss drugs and osteoporosis.
I was diagnosed with lumbar osteoporosis (T -3.3) on a medical examination about four years ago. Since it's the age group, in the beginning, I actually found the cause a lot of reasons for age. I didn't take osteoporosis medication because I was worried about side effects. Instead, I tried a lot to find the cause. As a result of the medical examination, calcium was always within the normal level every year. Vitamin D was in the normal range, but it was in a rather low range. So I got two vitamin D injections, and this year, I lived in an experimentally hot country for 6 months. I also quit drinking alcohol at all this year. I don't drink soda, coffee, or smoke. I've also been tested for bone growth hormones, but the doctor says it's normal. I tend to manage my exercise 2-3 times a week.
In the middle of the above test, osteoporosis tests were periodically taken in several places. Some places don't take it seriously, and some doctors are surprised. Anyway, for four years, the numbers have not gotten worse or better. The suspicion came to my mind that maybe this osteoporosis came to my 30s, well before my early 40s.
No reason could be found in genetic history, lifestyle, body levels, etc. I visited Da Damo for the first time in a while today because I was suspicious of the last hair loss medicine left. When I searched, I found that there are quite a few people who came to osteoporosis in their 30s. At this level, I think hair loss medicine may be the cause of osteoporosis. ChatGPT also says the Tinasteride drug may cause osteoporosis.
If you have taken hair loss drugs for more than a year, I strongly suggest you go to a nearby health center or orthopedic surgery to get tested for osteoporosis. My doubts are as follows.
- Taking hair loss medication causes bone density loss
- It significantly causes a decrease in bone density in the lumbar spine rather than the femur (in my case, the femur is in the normal range)
- It causes bone density reduction up to Max T -3.3
Not everyone who has taken hair loss pills will suffer from osteoporosis. However, there may be people who may have similar symptoms, and I think that just specifying these people can distinguish the special constitution (or lifestyle) that causes osteoporosis to be born.
Thank you.
