Hello, I'm leaving a review after finishing the Hair Transplant surgery safely. I also received a lot of help quietly from other people's reviews, so I summarized the process calmly, hoping that it would be a little helpful to those who are about to undergo surgery.

1. a surgical instrument

Since I was young, I've always heard 'you have wider forehead than I thought' when I had to show my forehead or wind due to the high and wide forehead line. I grew up thinking that I was just born with a wide forehead, and I never had any awareness or serious concerns about hair loss because I didn't have any hair loss in my family.

However, after losing more than 30kg in the last six months, I felt that the amount of hair I lost in the shower or in my daily life has increased and my hair has become very thin and weak. My acquaintances also advised me that my hair seems to have become much thinner, so why don't you take care of it. When I was doing my hair styling, I had concerns about reduced bang volume and thinner hair, and I thought it would be better to have Hair Transplant surgery before I get older.

2. Hospital selection

After examining the reviews through a large hair loss community, we selected a total of two hospitals, one in Apgujeong, Mammoth Hair Restoration Center, and one in other hospitals. 3. the consultation phase 

I was consulted by Seok Ji-woong, CEO of Apgujeong Mammoth Hair Restoration Center Hairline. I first heard the general information from the counseling manager and had time to exchange honest opinions with the director. The director introduced himself as conservative. Conservative meant over-lined or avoiding unnatural designs. Before the consultation, I vaguely wanted to lower my forehead line quite a bit, but the director emphasized the importance of natural design, so we discussed and coordinated it together. You explained it to me enough to understand, and we decided on the design accordingly.

The price was higher than other hospitals. But price was not my top consideration, and it didn't matter as long as the outcome of the surgery was good.

The director's belief and philosophy about hair transplantation were firm, and I felt relaxed about my skills, so I was confident that I should get surgery here. Fortunately, there was a date when another patient's surgery appointment was canceled, so thanks to the hospital's consideration, the surgery date was decided after a week of consultation, which is a relatively early date.

4. a surgical procedure

I had to visit the hospital by 9:40 a.m., so I had enough free time considering the rush hour. After a brief explanation and payment for the surgery, I changed into a surgical suit in a private waiting room. In the waiting room, you could choose a simple lunch menu of gimbap. I chose tuna kimbap.

After entering the operating room, taking a picture, listening to the director's brief explanation, I looked in the mirror and confirmed the primary design. During the operation, the director said that the design is finely adjusted about three times. I was also able to choose music to play in the operating room during the operation. If you have a favorite singer or playlist, feel free to tell me. Shaving the back of the head is also carried out at this time. The collection area is shaved in a horizontal line, and I shaved a total of 6 lines. The nurses in the operating room taped the hair to each line.

The operation will be carried out in three stages: [slit - collect - transplant]. For your information, lunch is eaten between the collection and transplantation stages.

1) Slit 

It is the step of making a hole with fine equipment where the hair follicles are to be moved and planted. An approximate estimate of 100 follicle units is determined in the consultation, and the final number of follicles is then determined. On average, it takes about 30 minutes.

While lying on the bed, anesthetize the laughing gas (N2O) and inject anesthesia into the slit area. The laughing gas is N2O (nitrous oxide), which is a gas mainly used in children's dentistry. As I inhale and exhale through my mouth, I feel more and more dazed and drunk. When you feel deeply drunk, raise one foot and signal to the director, and inject an anesthetic injection evenly on your forehead.

When you get your act together, the slit is going on. If the anesthesia is normal, you can lie down for 30 minutes without any pain. The number of slits is counted by the machine and notified by a notification sound every 50. Listening to the machine's count, I felt like it ended faster than I thought.

After the slit phase, you have time to go to the bathroom and do a simple stretch.

2) Collecting 

It is a step of collecting hair follicles from the back of the head. It takes longer than the slit step, and I think it's the most difficult step because I get it lying face down on the bed. I think there will be a slight difference in the time required depending on the number of hair follicles to be collected. It took me more than an hour and a half.

The collection stage is also anesthetized with laughter gas (N2O) and an anesthetic injection is given to the collection area. I wasn't in a pleasant mood because I felt like I was in deep space for a moment if I had inhaled more gas than I had in previous stages.

Hair follicles are collected with equipment that makes a very small drill sound along the shaved line. Start with the bottom line and go up in order. The collected hair follicles are separated with a microscope in real time by professional nurses. I think I need some patience because I'm lying on the bed for a long time and my face is pressed.

When the collection stage is over and a simple lunch is completed in the waiting room, the director explains the average parameter per hair follicle collected and the progress of the surgery.

3) Transplantation 

The final step is to plant the collected follicles into holes made in the slit stage. Laughter gas (N2O) anesthesia is not performed in the transplant phase. The estimated time was around 1 hour and 40 minutes, but I spent a lot of time on hemostasis with an unusual case, so it took me more than 2 hours.

Since it is the area where the anesthesia injection has already been given at the slit stage, it is only performed with additional anesthesia injection if the anesthesia is released. I'm an unusual case, so I have more bleeding than other patients, so my anesthesia has been lifted quickly. The reason and precautions will be described at the bottom. Depending on the designed part, the director distributes 1 hair/2 hair/3 hair follicles and transplants them naturally.

When the transplant is completed, adjust the overall hair follicle height and the operation is completed after hemostasis. Nurses take pictures, apply ointment to the transplant and collection sites, bandage them, and cover them with a beanie. You can just go home as it is.

5. a review of the operation 

After the surgery, you can take the prescribed painkillers and antihistamines for three days. There was no pain or itching until the next day I visited the hospital as I wore bandages and beanies on the day of surgery after taking the medicine. If you visit the hospital the day after the surgery, you will shampoo after removing the bandage and beanie, and teach you how to shampoo the transplant area and use the spray for the next two weeks. And I went home after hearing the progress of the surgery from the director. The next visit is the second week of surgery.

As I mentioned in the very gastric transplant phase, I had a lot of bleeding and took a lot of time to stop the bleeding. Flavix was on an arteriosclerotic medication and stopped taking it for a week between counseling and surgery, but the surgery was slightly impaired. However, the director said that it is not a matter of bleeding to the extent that blood flows, but blood is quickly formed in the hair follicles, so it is not something to worry about. Rather, he explained that he completed the surgery well without greater bleeding thanks to the fine equipment of Apgujeong Mammoth Hair Restoration Center Hairline alone.
