Maneless you had mentioned in forum 6 that you would like to find an extremely powerful topical anti-androgen --- I was just wondering if topical spironolactone had worked for you or if you had found it was not effective? I use it, along with some other stuff, but since I am taking a kitchen sink approach it is very hard to tell if the spiro is working or if the other stuff I am using that is working.....

Jimmy, No I have no news on RU58841. I just wanted to discuss antiandrogen therapy elsewhere because it's off topic and people get mad about it being discussed here.

Thanks for your reply. I remember Will Brink mentioning RU5581. He said a rich friend of his contracted a chemist to make it and was achieving good results. I emailed Will yesturday to see how his friend is doing. If it is not too expensive to compound this stuff, I think a few of us should give it a shot. I can assure you that RU58841 would be expensive to have made up. Even a 6 month supply could easily cost 10,000 dollars. As soon as you said that you would be interested if you could get it made up inexpensively that told me that there is no way you're gonna get RU58841. If you can get blackmarket RU58841 at all plan on spending a lot of money to get it. If you can't afford to spend a lot of money don't even bother looking into it. It is expensive to make a drug in a private lab. Drug companies have extremely expensive equipment and lots of employees to form an assembly line of people and equipment. If you try to make RU58841 in a private lab that lab won't have the equipment or the workers so it is going to be expensive. If you were to try to make one, that's right, just one, 60 ml bottle of 2% minoxidil in a private lab it would cost you about $3,000 - $5,000. I don't mean if you get the minoxidil pills and turn the pills into a 60 ml bottle of minoxidil, I mean if you were to try to actually make the actual minoxidil pill. The actual minoxidil itself, not just taking the pills and putting the pills in a liquid solution. Synthesizing molecules is very expensive unless you have a synthesis factory which is of course a drug company. You don't have a drug company so you'd have to go to a private lab. It would be very very expensive as private labs don't have the manpower or the equipment.

Sorry, but it'll cost you to get medicine synthesized.

According to you, this is very expensive. I was thinking of gathering 10 people to go in on it. Mabye 1K for 6 months but your saying there are no economies of scale here? I have friends getting their PhD in chemistry - mabye they have access. Will continue to look but not getting my hopes up.

Ther problem is that you would need enough to cover yourself for X number of months. When you add another person that you want to share with then that person needs the same amount of the stuff as you do and so the cost of the stuff doubles as you need it for yourself and him. You can not bring down the price by adding people. It is very expensive to synthesise drugs in a private lab. Do you know anybody who owns a drug company? Drug companies can do it much cheaper as they have enormously expensive equipment and many chemists running around each doing their part. This is why a drug company is called a synthesis factory. But to hire a private lab with a chemist or 2 to make you this stuff is gonna cost a lot of money. Once again, if you tried to make minoxidil from scratch, without even having the minoxidil pills, it would cost you thousands of dollars to produce ONE 60 ml 2% bottle of minoxidil.

Are you seeing good results? You tell me. And yes, it might be other things that are helping you, but it could be the spironlactone. Speionolactone is equivocal. It works sometimes in some people. It doesn't work all the time in all people because it has some problems. Do you remember how I said we need a potent and pure antiandrogen, well spironolactone is neither potent or pure. It starts out potent but it quickly becomes weak once it gets into the body so that's a problem. It also has some absorption problems. It also has "purity" problems in some people. It is iffy for these reasons.
