hairlosshelp.com 에서 proscar 를 찾아보시면, 여러
탈모 전문의들의 답변이 나오고, 모두 내용이 비슷합니다.
그 분들은 미국에서 탈모에 대한 약물 치료를 전문으로
하고 있는 분들입니다. 그 중 Richard Lee 박사 답변을
올려봅니다. 님께서 보내신 문의를 받으신 의사 분의 조언
중 일부는 신빙성이 없어보입니다.
아래 글은 대충 해석했습니다.
66% 경제적인 프로스카를 처방한 그 의사는 참 잘한것이다.
머크사가 1/4 프로스카를 복용하는 것이 이익을 덜 주기 때문에
그것을 저지하려 하지만, 프로스카와 프로페시아는 약리학적
효과가 동일하다. ... (중략) ... 0.2mg ~ 5mg 가 피나스트리드를
복용해서 효과를 볼 수 있는 하루치다. 그렇기 때문에 당신은
어쨌든간에 하루에 적절한 양을 복용하게 된다. 피나스트리드를
끊은뒤 2주가 되기 전까지는 DHT 수준이 원상 복귀되지 않기 때문에
하루 복용양이 변화되더라도 별다른 문제가 되지 않는다. ...(중략)...
나는 내 환자들에게 프로페시아 대신 프로스카를 사용하길 권한다.

Dr Richard Lee, MD answered: "It was a wise doctor who advised you to use quartered tablets of Proscar instead of taking daily tablets of Propecia. You're saving approximately 66% in costs. Although Merck tries to discourage patients from doing so, because there is less profit from the sales of Proscar than there is from Propecia, the pharmacological effect is identical. The size and color of the tablets have nothing to do with the amount of active ingredients they contain. The bulk of the tablets is filler and binder materials, not finasteride. The color of the tablets is only for easy identification. When you quarter the tablets of Proscar, the pieces will not be of equal size. This should not be of any concern to you. Finasteride has an effective dose range of 0.2 mg to 5 mg, so you will be getting an effective dose daily in any case. Besides, since your DHT level would not return to your baseline level until two weeks has lapsed after discontinuing finasteride, it does matter if the daily doses varied considerably. I hope I've been able to calm your apprehensions about using Proscar instead of Propecia. To the dismay of Merck, who is the exclusive manufacturer of both products, I encourage my patients to use Proscar in lieu of Propecia."
