I am writing to inform you of a serious issue regarding the misuse of IPSN certifications in South Korea It has come to my attention that there are individuals claiming to be IPSN certification holders and performing Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) procedures in South Korea.

Further, these individuals have stated that IPSN certifications are issued without formal testing or a rigorous evaluation process. This has raised concerns about the legitimacy of the certification and the possibility that it could be misused to justify illegal activities.

As an international organization promoting standardization in the SMP industry, what is IPSN 's official position on the following points?

Certification Process: Does IPSN issue certificates without requiring candidates to pass a formal exam or meet specific educational and practical standards?

→ There is no examination involved in the certification of qualifications within the IPSN organization; IPSN provides license certification to those with eligible qualifications who apply from member countries. The IPSN is not involved in the recognition of national examinations, and therefore, the IPSN cannot deny a certification granted by a national member organization.

Legal Compliance: How do you ensure that IPSN certifications will not be used to justify illegal activities, such as conducting SMP in countries where it is prohibited by law?

→ We are unable to respond to the legal requirements within each country, as this is not something our organization should be involved in. IPSN does not certify the validity of any technology or machine, so we cannot answer in that way.

Abuse of certification: What action will IPSN take if its certification is abused or misrepresented by an individual or organization?
→ If the registered organization condones such a situation, we will consider taking action in that case. First of all, please contact the Korean representative organization about this matter.
