This DHT buildups in the hair follicles and stops the hair growth cycle from proceeding normally or uninterrupted. The hormone testosterone which is in everybody's body reacts with an enzyme called alpha-5-reductase and causes DHT. That is why baldness occurs as a gradual circle and enlarges. It is theorized that the frontal hair line is problematic and hard to regrow since the oil on the top of your head runs forward, constantly putting the DHT back into these follicles.
